About Alex and job interest

I am an ambitious, adaptable and creative student in my final year at Loughborough University seeking a long-term career in the design industry. I am a keen analyst of data, language and engineering, and take pride in my ability to deconstruct problems to find solutions. My designs, in areas such as project innovation, web design and interior design have achieved a range of commendations and awards. I actively seek opportunities to stretch myself beyond my studies. I am an enterprising individual, balancing studying for my final year with part-time work, including streetwear reselling operation worth over £20,000 and as a senior web designer for Text Inspector, winner of the British Council ELTon Award for Digital Innovation, which is used by major publishers including the Cambridge University Press. My range of work experience means I am quick to establish strong relationships with colleagues from different backgrounds or positions in the workplace.

Why Should We Hire You?

Dissatisfied with the breadth of my degree, I teach myself external programming skills including Python, C++ and SQL as I recognise their importance in the working world. I analyse language, data and engineering in an attempt to improve products or processes and look for any and all opportunities to better myself. Alongside my studies, I also work part-time as a web designer for an internationally recognised text-analysis web tool called Text Inspector and am a co-founder of a business venture that analyses opportunities to resell streetwear for a profit, which has a net turnover of around £20,000 with an initial injection of less than £2,000. I enjoy challenges or opportunities to demonstrate my ability but am conscious of my currently limiting skillset. Hence, I am looking for an employer where I can learn and whose ethos matches my personal attributes. I am happy working toward a common goal within a team or directly under a manager, individually.
